Hypnosis is a relaxed state of mind whilst being fully aware of your surroundings.  Hypnotherapy allows a therapist to work with an individual on issues deeply rooted in their subconscious mind, while the patient is in a state of hypnosis.

As most common forms of hypnotherapy seek to suppress or manage unwanted habits / symptoms, the cause remains intact, and although relief in symptoms may be initially quick in their effect, it leaves the possibility of them returning.
